Mindfulness & its Benefits
Mindfulness and compassion practice can provide a foundation for working through anxiety, pain, stress, low mood and chronic conditions.
Regular practice of mindfulness and meditation can enable us to:
- become calmer
- manage stress more effectively
- better understand who we are and discover what is meaningful for us
- live more fully in the moment and appreciate joy
I offer one-to-one mindfulness sessions (as well as counselling) to help you learn and practice the skills of mindful meditation and how to bring a more mindful approach into everyday life situations. For some people 1:1 sessions fit into their lives more easily than joining a course.
If you would like to learn in a group, I run 2 mindfulness courses: Learning to Pause (5 weeks) and Pause for Being (9 weeks). I have run the shorter course online, as well as in person. Please register your interest with me. As well as teaching the courses mentioned, I will often integrate the teaching of mindfulness skills as part of one-to-one counselling, when appropriate.
Since 2008 I have developed a personal mindfulness and compassion practice of meditation and mindful movement (tai chi and yoga mainly). The integration of a mindful approach to daily living is an ongoing work in progress. I attend retreats to support my practice and self-care.
Living well.. Living Mindfully.. Living Heartfully..
I felt a sense of connectedness with our small group on a level that didn’t feel superficial and where there was no judgement or pressure. Especially appreciated during lock down
